Avery Gallery

Avery Gallery was lovely. The collection they've amassed is so beautiful. By the time I had viewed everything I felt I had come away with a definite impression of the aesthetic sensibility of the collectors behind it.

Sarah McEneaney @ Locks Gallery 15 Mar - 26 Apr, 2024

I had the pleasure of viewing a selection of work by Sarah McEneaney on a whim after work the other day. Locks Gallery is featuring a well curated collection of her paintings until late April, all of which are beautiful and colorful and had me thinking quite a lot about our interior spaces, our manicured habitats, our experience of the natural world in urbanized areas, and how full of strange our bodies are upon examination in the spaces we perpetuate despite our role in their design. Or, maybe it's just me. Maybe, it's me examining myself as if I were the artist in a vicarious way, placed as she is so obliquely within the intense vibrational pink walled environments of her home, or studio, or hotel.
